Pegas Touristik plans to launch charters in Koh Samui from several more cities
In February 2020, Pegas Touristik will add to three cities new departure points to Koh Samui. Russian tourist flow to the island may grow this winter by 600%. This was told by Bucky Kolpan, the head of the Thai department of the tour operator.
On December 27-28, Nordwind Airlines will perform charter flights to Samui for the first time from three Russian cities - Moscow, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk - by the order of Pegas Touristik.
The loading of January charters, according to Bucky Kolpan, currently is about 70%. “We see a high interest in our new flights, and therefore we are considering to expand the geography of departures,” said Mr. Kolpan during at official meeting organized by Pegas Touristik and Thai Tourism Authority (TAT).
According to Bucky Kolpan, from February the residents of other regions of Russia will be able to get to Samui by the shortest route. “Departure cities are now being identified. We consider cities in the north-west of Russia, the Ural region and in the Far East. In more details about new flight programs from these regions we will tell the market a little later,” he said.
The expert explained that the flights, as in the case of Moscow, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk, will be operated to the airport of the province of Surat Thani (Surat Thani), and then by a sea shuttle to Samui.
The direct flights from Moscow to Samui will allow Russian tourists not only to save time significantly (tourists can get from the airport to the hotels in 2,5 hours), but also money. So, Pegas Touristik can offer a 12 days tour in Samui for 1 555 Euros for two persons with a flight from Moscow,” stressed Bucky Kolpan.
