Moscow and St. Petersburg were visited by 300 thousand Chinese tourists for the first 9 months of 2016
According to the Tourist Association "The World without Borders", within the visa-free exchange program Moscow and St. Petersburg were visited by nearly 320 thousand tourists for the first 9 months of 2016, which is 20% more than in the same period of the last year. According to the association, Chinese tourists spend on the average 3 days in Moscow and 3 days in St. Petersburg.
The executive director of the Tourist Association "The World without Borders" Svetlana Pyatikhatki said, that the low exchange rate, as well as the active promotion of recreation opportunities in Russia contributes a lot in increasing of incoming tourist flow. The same fact concerns the efforts of the “Visit Russia” office in China.
Chinese tourists are interested in holidays in Russia, highly appreciate a simplified visa formalities between our two countries. The number of tourists coming to Moscow within the group tourist exchange program accounts 80% of the total tourist flow from China. The growth dynamic of visa-free tourist traffic is rapid, only Moscow and St. Petersburg were visited by 30% more tourists for 9 months in 2016 than in the whole 2013. This is mostly due to the activity of presentation policy of our country on the Chinese tourism market.
In Moscow Chinese tourists prefer to visit the Kremlin, Lenin's Mausoleum, Kolomenskoye park, Novodevichy Convent, Arbat and Exhibition of Economic Achievements.
