More flights to Venezuela - more combination tours
The Venezuelan leadership is negotiating with Russia to increase the number of flights between the countries for the development of tourism, said Ali Padrona, Minister of Tourism and Foreign Trade of the country.
According to him, now one flight is operated every 10 days. It was decided to increase them to one per week, then to two or even four per week.
Earlier, in December 2022, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak reported that Russia and Venezuela are discussing the implementation of joint projects to develop hotels and other tourism infrastructure in Venezuelan resorts where Russians can arrive.
Direct flights linked Russia and Venezuela in May 2021, when Venezuelan Conviasa opened flights from Vnukovo Moscow to Caracas. At the same time, Pegas Touristik tour operator carried out its own flight program to the resort island of Margarita on the boards of Nordwind and Pegas Fly.
After the start of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, direct charter flights were stopped and resumed only on October 1, 2022. Since re-launch, about 15 thousand Russians have visited Venezuela - this is the data of the Venezuelan side.
In the summer of 2022, tours to Venezuela were in demand and were offered by many operators. It was assumed that Conviasa would increase the frequency of flights in autumn, but this did not happen. But, with the resumption of charter flights, this was no longer a great need.
