Mexico has simplified visa rules. Now Russians can come there by Schengen visa also.
The Russian Travel Digest was told in the incoming company “Arminas Travel” about simplification of the visa regime in Mexico. Now in addition to the US visa the Russian tourists can enter the country by valid Schengen, Canadian, Japanese or British visas. According to the Director of tour operator Armina Wolpert, the rules came into effect in May 2016. However, these information was unnoticed on the Russian market. This news is absent on the Mexican Embassy website, but, according to telephone conversation at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Mexico in Moscow, these information was confirmed. It was precised there that the Schengen visas entitle to entry into the country up to 180 days. In addition to the visa, the tourists may formalize one-use electronic permission to visit the country, which is free of charge - you only need to fill out a special form for this. It is noted, that no one of the tour operators has formed a charter flight program to Mexico for the coming winter season.
