Kamchatka authorities are planning to receive 800 thousand tourists annually by 2025
“By 2025 in the framework of the tourism development in Kamchatka it is expected to increase tourist flow in the region up to 800 thousand people per year, approximately one fifth of this number will be foreign tourists”, - said the Governor of the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Ilyukhin.
According to the opinion of Ilyukhin, as for the foreign tourists, we do not expect a significant increase of the number of tourists from abroad. And in nine years, most likely, the foreigners will amount about 20% of all tourist arrivals.
In its turn, the attraction of foreign tourists means more work for the creation of a well-developed infrastructure.
Ilyukhin said, that the tourists from China, Japan and South Korea are interested a lot in visiting Kamchatka.
At the same time, as noted the Governor, the South Korean business is actively involved in the development of the project of the hotel construction in Kamchatka to satisfy needs of South Korean tourists.
The best solution to attract foreign tourists would be a quality of infrastructure, that would allow to open regular air links between the region and Japan. "The flight duration from Tokyo is just 3.5 hours", - said Ilyukhin.
