Jordan: Results of 2016 and Plans for 2017

Every year Jordan attracts thousands of tourists worldwide. This small Kingdom is famous all over the world for being home to thousands of historical sites and key biblical sites. These breathtaking sites include the legendary Petra; recognized as one of the new seven "wonders of the world" and a UNESCO World Heritage List, the Red Sea city of Aqaba home to unique marine life, and the Dead Sea's health and beauty resorts to name a few The country was visited by Russian tourist in 2016(49384) against (22020)in 2015 The growth of the number of Russian tourists can be explained by several reasons. One of them is considered by the Jordan Tourism Board to be large scale advertising campaigns which took place in Russia in 2016. These campaigns included billboards in large Russian cities, advertising on Russian Radio, and a music video by the famous singer "Sati Casanova" titled "My Happiness is sleeping" – which was shot in Jordan. It also included participation in the biggest travel exhibition in Moscow --MITT-2017. Meanwhile, Jordan was supported by all the leading tour operators in Russia offering 7 - 9 day-tours to Jordanian resorts in the Dead and Red Sea. Currently Royal Jordanian has 3 flights per week from Russia. RJ is considering increasing the number of flight frequency in the near future.
