Independent tourists prefer Germany, Italy and Thailand for the New Year

Tourists, independently traveling abroad for the New Year’s date, favor this year Germany, Italy and Thailand. The TOP-5 also includes Spain and France. This rating was presented by the specialists of the Analytical Center of Alfa Strakhovanie (insurance company). It is based on the analysis of sales data of air passengers’ insurance policies. 
Germany leads the ranking with share of 28,2%. Tourists travel there for Christmas, when various fairs, festivals and concerts are held on the central streets of cities. On the second position is Italy, which attracted 22,6% of Russian tourists by winter sales. 
The eastern temples of Thailand, combined with noisy evening entertainment and a hot climate, attracted 13,5% of travelers. Another 11,3% of Russians preferred the carnivals of Spain. France closes the TOP-5 of leading countries with share of 9,2%. 
The next list of five countries includes Israel (7,3%), the Czech Republic (3,1%), Turkey (2,6%), China (1,2%) and Armenia (1,0%). 
“Traditionally, destinations with a mild climate and low air tickets’ prices are the most popular for New Year's holidays,“ commented Dmitry Migachev, the director of the passenger insurance department at Alfa Insurance company.
