In autumn Russian tourists book tours to Greece, Italy and Turkey
In the autumn the demand of Russian tourists for travel to Greece and Italy increased by more than 20% and to Turkey - by 10% due to lower prices this season.
As the tour operator Intourist noted, first of all, demand for European destinations such as Greece and Italy has grown, also Russians are actively buying tours to Bulgaria.
The tour operator Tez Tour reported about increase of Russian interest in Turkish resorts by 10% compared with the summer months. “In connection with the active demand for the destination, it was decided to extend the flight program to Antalya until the 20-th of October from Ufa, Samara, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk,” the press service stated. At the same time, the European destinations of the tour operator, such as Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Greece and Bulgaria, remained at the same level as in the summer.
According to Tez Tour, in general, the demand for autumn holidays in 2019 increased by 26% compared to last year. The rating of the most popular destinations has traditionally been headed by Turkey (plus 28%), Greece (plus 32%), Spain, Cyprus and Italy. Bookings of Bulgaria have also grown - plus 34%. Also, such areas as China and the UAE were not included in the TOP-5, but have equally high demand.
Tez Tour noted that more and more Russian travelers for the period of the autumn season began to prefer hotels of high category, reducing the duration of the trip. 18,6% of Russian tourists chose trips for 13-14 nights this season, which is 4,2% less than in 2018. The number of tours lasting from 9 to 12 nights increased by 5,7%, and the share of such bookings in the overall sales structure for the autumn season was 35,1%.
