Greece allowed limited entry of tourists from Russia
From September 7, Russian citizens who have valid Schengen visas will be able to enter Greece through checkpoints of the airports of Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion.
The corresponding changes were made to the Greek legislation and published on September 1 in the official newspaper of the Government of the Hellenic Republic.
According to the head of Tez Tour Greece Dimitris Haritidis, entry is allowed only through the indicated airports with a restriction of no more than 500 people per week. A required condition is the presence of a negative PCR test, translated into English and made no earlier than 72 hours before the trip.
As Dimitris Haritidis said, a selective testing of passengers is possible at the airports. However, it is not yet known how quota of 500 people will be monitored. The details are expected on September 2.
Meanwhile, air traffic between Greece and Russia has been suspended. To resume air traffic a decision of the aviation authorities is required.
