Finland is in no hurry to open borders for Russians
Finland will maintain the current restrictions on the entry of foreigners. Despite the closed borders and the suspension of the mass issuance of tourist visas in Russia, the service fee for issuing the Finnish Schengen has increased.
Finland will not open to Russian travelers in early autumn. “Restrictions on crossing the external borders of Finland remain. At the moment, there are restrictions that came into force on 08.24.2020, "- a message from the Finnish Embassy in Russia reports.
The previous ban on crossing the Finnish border expired on September 8. The diplomatic mission does not report for what period the ban on entry has now been extended.
Finland adheres to the most stringent COVID-19 criteria in Europe. These indicators today do not correspond to any country in Europe.
According to the Embassy, the service fee at the Finnish visa application centers in Russia has been increased since September 1, 2020 - from 27,20 Euros (2 447 Rubles) to 28,90 Euros (2 600 Rubles). According to Finnish diplomats, the increase in fees will cover the increased costs for the consideration of applications over the past year.
At present, Finland issues visas only for certain categories of Russian citizens. These are transport and maritime workers, as well as persons applying for a visa on the basis of an unregistered marital relationship or for humanitarian reasons.
