Experts called the tourist flow from China to Russia as useless

In 2018, Chinese organized tourist flow in Russia increased by almost 20% and, according to forecasts, in 2019 this figure will continue to grow. However, the representatives of the Russian travel industry are not happy about this: experts over several years have publicly declared that guests from China do not actually bring any benefit to the Russian economy. Moreover, the "employees" of Chinese travel agencies, deprive of work their Russian colleagues. 

“First of all, Chinese companies are heavily dumping in order to increase the attractiveness of their tour package. In this situation, tour packages with zero or negative marginality are being promoted by majority of Chinese tourist companies. But we understand that nobody does charity work. It turned out that souvenirs and jewelry shops are the economic base for black tourism. In these stores, the price of these products is 10-15 times higher than on the market. By the help of these closed-cycle shops that Chinese travel agencies have their marginality", said the chairman of the Council of Association for the promotion of Russian-Chinese tourism, Yuri Turcan. 

“Additionally, this scheme would not be complete without its key element - illegal guides. That is, they do everything on their own. As a result, a huge amount of unaccounted money circulates in this segment - that all does not work for our economy. As a result, the infrastructure of Russian cities suffers from such an influx of Chinese tourists.” added Yuri Turcan.
