Estonia will establish strict rules for crossing the border
The Estonian Ministry of Justice will prepare a draft law on border crossing by Thursday, July 8. The most stringent entry rules will be established for Russia, which is struggling with the outbreak of the «delta» variant of the coronavirus. According to the draft law being prepared, in case of deterioration of the situation, the border crossing can be suspended.
Currently, it is possible to enter Estonia from Russia upon presentation of a certificate of vaccination or a document confirming the transferred disease. Last week, 49 cases of coronavirus infection were imported to Estonia from abroad, 32 of them from Russia.
In Russia, the daily increase in the number of coronavirus infections for the third day in a row amounted to 24 353 cases. The number of recorded deaths per day is 654. The largest number of deaths occurred in Moscow and St. Petersburg: 106 and 100, respectively. At the same time, in St. Petersburg, the infection was detected in 1 828 people over the past day, and this is the maximum increase in cases in the region since February 3, when 1 916 people were infected with the virus.
