Dominican Republic is in advance of Vietnam in the ranking of winter destinations

Intermediate results of the study, organized by "BANKO" service for the preparation of rating of popular destinations in the winter-2018/2019, reported about changes in the preferences of tourists. At the moment, 260 firms from Moscow and Moscow region took part in the study. According to the study, the Dominican Republic (16% of the votes) replaced Vietnam (14.5%) on the second position. By the opinion of travel agents, probably, it is connected with the successful start of Dominican destination this season. Tour operators decided to increase their flight programs, and the prices for tours went down before starting the flights. In the first half of October, the prices for the rest on the beaches of the Dominican Republic were equal the cost of the flight. After that, travel operators have adjusted their plans - ANEX Tour, for example, canceled own flights to Puerto Plata. The prices have grown a bit, but continued to be attractive for clients of travel agencies. So, it is really to buy a weekly tour for two persons at a 4* hotel on “All Inclusive” basis with departure from Moscow for 105 thousand Rubles ($ 1,599). It is a little bit more expensive than air tickets. Tours to Vietnam at the same dates are cost less. However, there are some nuances. Most budget proposals in this country include accommodation on the basis of breakfast or without meals. And this explains the confidence of travel agents in the high interest of their customers to travel to the Dominican Republic. With the current exchange rate of the ruble, the majority believes that it is more profitable to overpay several thousand for the trip, but to avoid additional spending at the resort. It is noted, that according to the preliminary results of the study, Thailand remains the leader (25% of the vote) in the ranking of winter holiday destinations. For many seasons this destination does not lose its position in a ranking. And even now, despite the significantly cheaper Vietnam, the demand for Thai resorts shows a high dynamics. According to experts, the matter is in the general increase of prices for abroad holidays.
