Bulgaria will open borders for Russian tourists from May 1
The summer tourist season in Bulgaria will begin on May 1. This was announced by Mariyana Nikolova, the Minister of Tourism of the country, in an interview with the journalists of the national television.
In turn, Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov added that Bulgaria is introducing a "green certificate" for tourists who will provide a certificate of the presence of COVID-19 antibodies, a negative PCR test or a certificate of vaccination, including the Russian vaccine.
In this case, Russian guests will be able to freely enter Bulgaria and they will not need to undergo quarantine.
“Today, the country's authorities have officially announced the start of the summer tourist season in Bulgaria on May 1. This is good news. Also, the so-called green corridors will be opened for foreign citizens, including from Russia, Ukraine, Serbia and Turkey, which are the priority countries for tourism in Bulgaria. This was stated by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. Thus, there is a real opportunity for the arrival of Russian tourists. We hope and believe that this news will increase the demand for the destination,” commented Alper Ali, Chief Representative of the host company Go2Holiday.
Earlier, representatives of the Bulgarian tourism industry said that they expect to start accommodation of Russian group tourists in May.
