Losses of the Krasnodar Territory from restrictions due to coronavirus, which are introduced for tourists, in July-August may amount to 460-640 million Euros, reports ATOR (Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
The Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev said last week that a negative "PCR test" (analysis for the presence of coronavirus by the polymerase chain reaction method) or a document confirming vaccination against covid is needed to check in hotels and hotels in the region from July 1, they will only accept guests with a vaccination certificate, if there are no medical contraindications.
"The losses of the Krasnodar Territory from the imposed restrictions in July and August alone can range from 460-640 million Euros," ATOR experts calculated.
According to their estimates, 6,5 million tourists planned trips to the Kuban region from July to September. As previously the head of the association Maya Lomidze reported, only in August, from 50 to 80% of tourists can refuse from the planned trips, and in July - 20-25%. According to her, many tourists traveling with families are not ready to pay for PCR tests, because the price for tests will be 20-25% or more of the cost of accommodation.
“At least 3 million tourists already have vouchers to accommodation in July. The average price of a trip per person in July is 208- 232 Euros. Total direct losses could amount to 173 million Euros", - ATOR says.
According to experts, as of August, tours to the Krasnodar Territory were sold on average for 2,5 million people. We are talking about both organized and independent tourists. The total cost of sold vouchers for August is about 580 million Euros.
