Among European countries Russia is on the third line of arrivals to Dominican Republic
In the first quarter of 2018 Dominican Republic hosted 1,794,321 foreign tourists, which is 128,714 more (+ 7.7%) than in the same period of 2017. Most tourists arrive to the country via Punta Cana International Airport - 68% of the total flow or nearly 1.1 million. The most active in Dominican Republic are the residents of the countries of North America - 62.5%. European countries sent to local resorts 23.4%, and South America - 11.1% of tourists. Among the incoming growing markets is Russia, which sent 58,610 tourists to Dominican Republic in January-March 2018. Among European countries Russia is on the third line after France and Germany. In 2017, according to the Ministry of Tourism of Dominican Republic, the country was visited by more than 240 thousand Russian tourists - 82% more than in 2016.
