A record number of Russian tourists visited Abu Dhabi since the beginning of this year
According to the official statistics of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, in the four months of 2019, 33,597 citizens of the Russian Federation have rested in the Emirate, which is 35% more than last year. This figure includes only those Russians who spent at least one night in one of the hotels of the Emirate.
March was the most successful month for the tourism industry - the number of Russians at the resorts of Abu Dhabi exceeded 10,000 and amounted to 10,458 people, which is 58% more than in the previous March. April was also very successful - a growth amounted to 22% and the total number of Russian tourists was 9,005 people.
It is noted, that last winter Coral Travel tour operator with the active support of the Department of Culture and Tourism for the first time implemented a project of a continuous charter chain from Moscow to Abu Dhabi during the entire high season, from October to April. As practice has shown, the direct charter flights to Abu Dhabi were in great demand among Russian tourists.
Moreover, the other countries of the former USSR were also marked by record numbers over the first months of 2019. Thus, the flow of tourists for the first four months has increased from Belarus by 65% (1,616 people), from Kazakhstan by 78% (5,393 people), from Ukraine by 33% (7,294 people), from Latvia and Lithuania by 40% (4,699 people), from Azerbaijan by 48% (1,002 people) and from Kyrgyzstan by 69% (922 people).
