A direct flight will link Russia and Iceland in 2018
“S7 Airlines launches direct scheduled flights from Moscow to Reykjavik from June 9, 2018. Departures from Domodedovo airport will be performed weekly on Saturdays by Boeing 737-800 liners”, - informed press service of the carrier. The airline explained its decision by the growing demand for the direction among Russians and concern for the Icelandic fans of the World Cup. According to Elena Kuznetsova, the Director of the Scandinavian department of Quinta Tour, the demand for Iceland really increases every year. Against the last year, the company's sales grew by 30%. And the tourists of the tour operator are already booking tours for the summer 2018. Now the minimum flight time with change in Helsinki is 7.5 hours and maximum - with change in other European cities - reaches 12 hours. By the airplanes of S7 Airlines the whole route will take no more than 5 hours. Among other things, the direct flight reduces the difficult of baggage transportation. In addition, of course, the price of the ticket becomes more profitable. The cost of the flight of the route Moscow - Reykjavik - Moscow starts from 21 thousand Rubles (304 EUR). In comparison with the tariffs for indirect flights the savings are about 10 thousand Rubles (144 EUR).
