Why tours to Thailand for the New Year are badly sold
In large networks of travel agencies note a decrease in the volume of realization of tours to Thailand on New Year's dates. As Elina Zeveleva, head of the financial settlements centre of MGP retails, told, according to the agencies of her company for the period from the beginning of the year till September 25, the sales of tours to Thai resorts is about 10% low the figures for the same period last year. In the network of Geography company sales volumes in the direction decreased by an average of 30%, says its CEO Julia Kruglova. In cities of south Russia - Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Astrakhan and Volgograd – the negative dynamics varies from 15 to 20%, the head of the network Pink Elephant Alexan Mkrtchyan said. Observers explain, first of all, the decrease of early booking of tours to Thailand compared last year's indicators by growth of prices for trips, which, in turn, increased due to the rise of prices for air transportation for the New Year period. The noticeable rise of the dollar's rate is also affecting. As some experts believe, the decrease in demand for early booking of New Year's dates may be due to the fact that many customers nowadays believe (according to the summer experience) that purchases of tours in advance often became unprofitable. Observers expect that activation of sales of New Year Thailand starts from late October to early November. And a number of experts do not exclude that the final volumes may even exceed last year's figures. However, in this case, the share of tours will be sold at the last moment - a few days before departure.
