Turkey was visited by 3.3 million Russian tourists for 8 months of 2017

“In January-August 2017 3,333 million Russian tourists visited Turkey, which is 10 times higher than in the same period of the last year”, - informs the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Russians are confidently leading among other nationalities by the number of arrivals: their share of visitors for January-August amounted 15.2%. Also in the TOP 5 are Germany (2.5 million, 11.4%), Georgia (1.597 million, 7.3%), Iran (1.559 million, 7.1%) and Great Britain (1.158 million tourists, 5.3%). The total number of foreign tourists who visited Turkey for eight months amounted 21.984 million, which is 26.4% more than the result of the same period in 2016. In August Russians were also the most numerous foreign tourists in Turkey. For a month 805.8 thousand Russians have rested at Turkish resorts, which is almost 8 times more than in August 2016. In total 4.658 million foreign tourists visited Turkey in August, which is 46.3% more than in August 2017. In Turkey in August most foreign tourists visited Antalya (37.1% of all visits to the country), Istanbul (26.8%), Mugla (8.7%), Edirne (7.5%) and Artvin (6, 7%).
