Tunisia has grown - despite Turkey

The Russian tourist flow to Tunisia for 10 months of 2018 already exceeded by 15% the figures for the whole 2017. This is close to the growth rate of the Turkish resorts. According to official statistics of Tunisia, as of end of October, 591 thousand Russians have visited Tunisia. This is already 15% higher than the result for the whole 2017 (514 thousand tourists). The Russians are the leaders among Europeans in the number of night stays in Tunisia: almost 5.5 million. This is two times more than the indicators of France and Germany. 2016 was the record year for Tunisia on the Russian market, when 623 thousand of Russian tourists came to the resorts of Tunisia. Based on the double-digit dynamics of the current year, it can be assumed that the number of Russian arrivals in Tunisia will be at least at the level of 2016. Already we can say that in the segment of organized tourism, Tunisia turned out to be one of the two countries which attracted a large part of the flow from the more expensive European beach destinations in the 2018 season. Some major tour operators reported about a record dynamics on the destination which is comparable to that of Turkey. So, according to Intourist tour operator, the demand for the last season grew by 39% (in Turkey, of this operator - by 40%). The sales of Tunisia of Biblio-Globus tour operator increased by 83.4% (in Turkey - by 55%). As Biblio-Globus stressed, Tunisia is in the TOP-5 of the most popular countries in this summer and autumn season. The fact, that the season was successful and the demand has increased almost three times, was confirmed by ANEX Tour. In the summer season of 2018, the tour operator has launched on the rout Boeing 777-300 aircraft with a possibility of booking comfort-class seats, which increased the demand for 5* hotels. The preferences of Russian tourists in Tunisia remained the same - they, as before, prefer the hotels on the first coastline with a vast green area and a good reputation. According to tour operators, the average duration of a tour to Tunisia is 11 nights; nevertheless, in the top demand there were both weekly options and longer rest periods of 10–14 nights. According to Intourist, this year the average price for a tour to Tunisia was approximately 30,000 Rubles ($ 441) per person. According to Biblio-Globus, in the summer season the average cost of a tour for a family (2 adults and a child) on all inclusive bases was $ 1,500.
