Belgorod will have no winter destinations

In the upcoming winter season, Belgorod residents will not be able to fly from their city to the resorts of Thailand. Coral Travel canceled the flight program, which was carried out from the region last year. As a result, Belgorod has actually no winter destinations.  “From Anex Tour , we can offer only some resorts in UAE, but we have few tourists who can afford such expensive destination. Previously, tour operators offered also sightseeing tours to Istanbul, but this year such tours are not offered. Now, in winter there is nothing to offer to tourists,” Nika travel agency reported. 

According to the director of Great Travel Agency Inna Polevnichy, the residents of neighboring cities of Kursk and Voronezh, who actively used Coral Travel flights to Thailand, also suffered. Tourists are not ready to go to Moscow, since train tickets in winter cost about 10 000 Rubles (137 Euros) per family. “The situation is a little brightened by the fact that Pegas Touristik launched charters from Voronezh to Phuket (with a change in Moscow before the New Year and after holidays with direct flight). It’s 230 km to Voronezh from us, and Voronezh Airport arranges an inexpensive transfer from Belgorod for international flights,” the expert says. 

As Marina Makarkova, the PR director of Coral Travel, explained, the total number of flights to Thailand remained at last year's level: instead of Belgorod, the flights from Arkhangelsk appeared in the schedule. 

Pegas Touristik also reduced the number of flights to Thailand - from 33 cities of departure to 29 cities this year. The rest of the Thai players keep their last year“s volumes. Biblio-Globus reported that the program has not changed: as before, from Moscow there are five flights a week to Phuket and twice a week to Pattaya. All flights are on the boards of Rossia Airlines. Anex Tour, where the situation is similar, added that on some routes the airplanes were replaced by bigger ones - for example, Boeing 777 with a business class will fly from Moscow to Thailand.
