Tour operators have predicted the volume of air transportation to Antalya in the summer
Russian tour operators made a forecast on the volume of air transportation and tourist flow to the main Turkish beach resort in the summer of 2019. According to the experts, adjustments for the flight programs from Russia cannot be avoided: tours to Turkey are becoming more expensive with each passing month.
Recall, according to estimates of Fraport TAV Antalya Airport, based on current airlines demand, in 2019 the Russian tourist flow to Antalya expects zero growth. Last year, Antalya was visited by 4.8 million citizens of the Russian Federation, which is 26.3% more than in 2017.
The forecasts of the Turkish side are confirmed by the leading destination’s tour operators. According to the Executive Director of Intourist tour operator Sergey Tolchin, taking into account the optimal scenario, based on the volume of transportation, the Russian tourist flow to Antalya will grow by 4.5% in the 2019 season. And in the framework of a pessimistic scenario - it will be lower than the 2018 indicator.
According to Sergey Tolchin, “Turkey is already very expensive,” and closer to the summer season, the holiday in this area will be more expensive. So, when you buy a tour for Turkey closer to the start of the season, its cost will be 30% higher than it was, for example, in May 2018.
“Turkish hoteliers are now experiencing excessive expectations against the background of growing demand from European tourists, who refuse to rest in Spain and Bulgaria in favor of Turkey. So we are still talking to agents and tourists: Turkey should be booked without waiting for the end of the early booking promotion. The prices that we have now - will not be in the middle of the spring", emphasizes Mr. Tolchin.
