The tourist flow from Russia to Turkey grew by 2.5 times in March

“58,600 Russians visited Turkey in March, which is 145% more than a year earlier”, - according to the data of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey. In March 2016, the country was visited by 23.9 thousand Russians and a year earlier - 58.3 thousand. Thus, the flow from Russia in 2017 exceeded the level of two years ago, before the crisis. In total, 1.58 million foreign tourists visited Turkey in March, which is 4% less than in the same month of the last year. At the same time, the Russian market demonstrated one of the most significant growth rates. The leaders in March are Iran (262.3 thousand people), Georgia (177.5 thousand), Bulgaria (141.6 thousand people) and Germany (130.3 thousand people). Russia is on the fifth place. In total, from January to March, Turkey has hosted 3.8 million tourists, which is 6.43% less than a year ago. The tourist flow from Russia amounted 138 thousand people, exceeding the last year's figure more than twice.
