Most tourists in January came to Tallinn from Finland - 32.8 thousand, an increase of 6%. Also, increased the number of tourists from Sweden and the UK. "Although the number of Russian tourists visiting Tallinn has not yet reached the pre-crisis level, it can be seen that the number of eastern neighbors has again turned in the direction of rapid growth", - said the Deputy Mayor of Tallinn Aivar Risalu. In total, 106 thousand foreign tourists stayed in hotels in Tallinn in January, which is 9% more than in the same period of the last year. Foreign tourists spent more time in hotels in Tallinn in January than they did a year ago, an average - 1.96 nights. 67% of those who spent the night in hotels indicated tourism as the purpose of their stay.
