The tourist flow from Russia to Spain increased by 14% for two months

“In January-February 2017, 107.3 thousand Russian tourists visited Spain, which is 14.2% more than in the same period of the last year”, - according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of the country. The total number of tourists who arrived Spain for the period of two months in 2017 has amounted up to 8.023 million, which is 11.3% higher than in the same period in 2016. Traditionally, the most number of travelers came to Spain from the UK (1.718 million, + 14.6%), France (1.069 million, +6.5%) and Germany (1.002 million, + 5.2%). In February, the tourist flow from Russia increased by 27% compared to the same month of the last year, amounting up to 43.7 thousand people. The largest number of tourists for vacation in Spain is choosing the Canary Islands, Catalonia, Andalusia and Madrid. In 2016, 75.6 million tourists came to Spain, including more than 1 million Russians. According to the estimates of the Russian tour operators, in 2017 the tourist flow from Russia to Spain will grow. As reported, the volume of sales to Spain by early booking programs is already higher than in the previous year.
