The tour operator has canceled the flight program in the Greek Chania
Tours to Chania (Crete), formed on Ural Airlines flights, have disappeared from the Coral Travel online booking system. Retail partners of the tour operator reported about this on June 5.
Marina Makarkova, the head of public relations department at Coral Travel, confirmed: the program was canceled due to insufficient loading.
The tour operator began selling tours to Chania in late April. Flights from Moscow were to be performed twice a week.
According to observers, this year the demand for Chania from the European markets decreased a little. Therefore, it was hoped that special offers stimulate sales in Russia. At the same time, travel agents did not have confidence that the program will take place, since programs in Chania are announced, and after that they are canceled not for the first time.
So, in the middle of July Mouzenidis Travel had to terminate the program announced for the summer of 2018. “This year we decided not to experiment,” noted the company's general director Alexander Tsandekidi.
“Even in the pre-crisis times this program was worked out with difficulty. At the same time, a three-star hotel, which Coral has as an exclusive, can be sold via Heraklion. Last year, Pegas Touristik acted by this way until it lost an exclusive,” says one market participant, who wishes to remain anonymous.
