The Russian tourist flow to Spain increased by 9% for five months

“Over 335,000 Russian tourists visited Spain in January-May 2018, which is 9% more than in the same period of the last year”, - according to the data of National Institute of Statistics (INE) of the country. In May 2018 91,1 thousand Russians visited the country, which is 10% more than for the same period a year earlier. In total, 28.6 million foreigners visited Spain for five months 2018, which is 2% more than in the same period of the last year. In May the country was visited by more than 8 million foreign tourists. For the first five month most tourists come to Spain from Great Britain (6.3 million people), Germany (3.94 million) and France (3.92 million). Since the beginning of the year the number of tourists has grown from Portugal (+ 12.8%) and the USA (+10.8%). The most attractive destinations for travelers are Catalonia (6.5 million), Canary Islands (5.8 million) and Andalusia (4.1 million). According to INE, for five months of 2018 foreign tourists spent 29.6 billion Euros in the country.
