According to the results of the first quarter of 2018, the Russian tourist flow to Cyprus showed a decrease of 5% in comparison with the same period of the last year, but in April the traffic has increased by 14%. According to the official statistics of Cyprus, for the first three months of this year the country was visited by 29.3% more of tourists than during the same period of 2017. As for the Russian market, in the first quarter almost 45.5 thousand travelers visited Cyprus, which is 5% less than it was in the same period of 2017. However, in April the Russian market showed double-digit dynamics: plus 14% (22.6 thousand Russians). Russia by the number of arrivals to Cyprus in April was on the second line (almost 12% of the total entry tourist flow) ahead of Germany and Israel. The leaders of tourist flow are traditionally British tourists, whose share is 35%. Analyzing the results of January-March, the press service of Biblio-Globus tour operator says that the beginning of the year traditionally is a low season in Cyprus. "The demand for early booking was at the level of the last year and the depth of sales already reaches October 2018. Taking into account the great depth of sales and successful indicators of early sales, we believe that there are absolutely no prerequisites for adjusting the plans for the summer period", - the company said, stressing that Cyprus is a year-round destination for Biblio-Globus customers. According to the tour operator, Cyprus has a very high percentage of return tourists from Russia, many of them return to the same favorite hotel from year to year. In the top requests of Russian tourists in Cyprus are Ayia Napa, Paphos, Limassol, Protaras and Larnaca.
