The Russian tourist flow to Antalya is growing significantly

60% more tourists from Russia arrived in Antalya in January-April 2018 in comparison with the same period of the record 2017 and 44% more than in the same period of 2014, which is still considered as the best year for Antalya. According to the Department of Culture and Tourism of Antalya, during the first 4 months the resort hosted 1.23 million foreign tourists, which is 43.8% more than in the same period of 2017. Antalya overcame the "psychological" mark of 1.2 million tourists (the result for January-April of the successful 2015. In total, tourists from 164 countries visited the city, but the markets of Germany and Russia became the doubtless tourist leaders. Meanwhile, the growth of the Russian tourist flow to Antalya is called in Turkey as "phenomenal". The share of Russian market in the total incoming flow amounted 27.1%. Despite the low season 302.6 thousand of Russian travelers visited the resort in January-April, which is 60.2% more than during the same period of 2017. By the number of tourists the Russian market already in April became the absolute leader in Antalya bypassed the German market in this "competition". In April Antalya beaches were visited by almost 221 thousand Russians (+ 62% against April 2017). For comparison: from Germany there were 149 thousand tourists (+4.8%).
