The number of Russian tourists in Estonia in March fell by almost half
The number of Russian tourists to Estonia fell in March by 43% compared to March 2014, the Department of Statistics of Estonia said on Monday.
This reduction, coupled with the decrease of tourists from Finland by 11% could not offset the increase in the number of visitors from the most important partner countries, including Latvia (+ 7%), Sweden (+ 18%), Germany (+ 13% ).
In general, 180 thousand tourists booked accommodation in Estonia in March 2015, which is 3% less than in March 2014. The number of foreign tourists decreased by 9%.
The average cost of an overnight stay was 33 euros, which is two euros more than a year ago.
