Thailand received more than 354 thousand Russians in the autumn
From the beginning of 2023, Thailand has set a course for the complete restoration of Russian tourist flow to the 2019 level. The country is moving confidently towards its goal - over the first 11 months, more than 90% of the “pre-Covid” number of tourists have already arrived in Thailand. Russia is in the 5-th place in terms of entry into the Kingdom, and in the ranking of non-Asian countries that supply tourists, the country is the leader.
Transportation plays a significant role in maintaining Thailand's strong position: Thailand today is the only country in Southeast Asia where direct charters fly from Russia. There are also more scheduled flights to Thailand this year.
According to Thai statistics, Thailand received 177 412 Russians in November, for three months of autumn – 354 932 Russians.
November became the most successful autumn month in terms of tourist flow. October takes the second place with 107 505 Russians. In September, 70 015 Russians came to Thailand.
From January 1 to December 8, 1 325 222 tourists from Russia visited Thailand, of which 48 532 arrived between December 1 and 8.
In total, since the beginning of the year, 25 535 904 foreign tourists have visited Thailand, which is 169% higher than the same period last year.
The Russian tourist flow to Thailand has recovered by more than 90% to the “pre-Covid” level: in 2019, Thailand received 1,47 million tourists from Russia.
As tour operators believe, taking into account the high current demand, the tourist flow to Thailand has every chance of eventually reaching the “pre-pandemic” level and even exceeding it.
In the winter season, Thailand is guaranteed to take the first place among Russians and remain its position in the top three outbound destinations.
