For the first two months of autumn, nearly 200 thousand Russians visited Thailand
Demand for Thailand among Russians continues to show positive dynamics, showing monthly growth. In October – plus 30% compared to September data. The main demand is for Phuket, where Russians increasingly accommodate at expensive hotels. Hoteliers estimate the increase in the number of guests from the Russian Federation in this segment at 10-40%, and the price increase - at 30%.
According to the latest official Thai statistics, shared at the Moscow office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), 107 505 Russians visited Thailand in October. The values were more than 30% higher than in September, when Thailand received 70 015 Russians.
With the contribution of October, the Russian tourist flow to Thailand, starting from the beginning of 2023, reached 1 099 278 tourists. This is a stable fifth place in the ranking of all countries which supply tourists to Thailand. Based on the results of 10 months, Russia lost (in descending order) only to Malaysia (3 632 201), China (2 784 476), South Korea (1 320 421) and India (1 302 483).
In turn, among non-Asian countries, no one is able to catch up with Russia. According to the results of October, Britain ranks the second among European countries in terms of tourist flow (60 316), and Germany closes the top three (58 021 tourists). The fourth and fifth places are taken by France (40 548) and the Netherlands (16 736).
Russian tourists, holidaying in Thailand, concentrate on Phuket, which accounts for most of the demand. But at the same time, experts notice this year a more active redistribution of tourist flow to other resorts, including Khao Lak, Krabi, Samui, Koh Chang, Bangkok, etc.
