Tanzania has simplified entry rules for Russian tourists

Tanzania has made changes to the current rules for the entry of foreign tourists. The country recognized the Sputnik V vaccine, exempting vaccinated Russians from certificates of a negative PCR test and tests upon arrival.

As tour operators working in the destination said, from June 7, Tanzania began accepting documents from tourists on vaccination with Sputnik V.

The relevant document was sent by the authorities of Zanzibar to the host companies. It states that in addition to the vaccines recognized by WHO, the Sputnik V vaccine is also accepted for entry.

Tanzania in 2020 and early 2021 became one of the leaders of tourist demand in Russia: in the first quarter of 2021, charters from 9 Russian cities flew to the island of Zanzibar - 85 413 tourists from Russia visited this resort from January to March.

This allowed Tanzania to enter the TOP 10 main outbound markets of the Russian Federation, despite the fact that since April 15, 2021, Tanzania has lost all direct flights from the Russian Federation and, accordingly, almost the entire tourist flow from the country.

Despite the logistical difficulties, according to tour operators, there is a demand for Tanzania in Russia, although it is not massive. Players of the Russian tourist market and their host partners in Tanzania are hoping for a revival of demand in the summer 2022.

Beach holidays in Tanzania in 2022 are significantly cheaper. So, now the price for a beach tour from China Travel to Zanzibar is about 2 657 Euros for two persons for 10 nights (with flight).
