Russians returned to Austria
The Russian tourist flow to Austria is rising again, which is very pleased for the representatives of local tourist business. "The number of Russian tourists began to grow since the end of 2016. Six months ago we started offering audio guides to visitors from Russia and this service became very popular. In addition, more and more Russian visitors are buying the Vienna Pass, a card that allows you to visit museums and other sights of Vienna free of charge or by discount, as well as to use public transport", - said representative of the Department of Tourism of Vienna Museum of Natural History Wolfgang Taygner. According to him, visitors from Russia visit the museum individually, but now work on agreements with Russian tour operators is under way. Mr. Taygner also noted that the Russian market for Austria became very significant. Vienna Art History Museum is expecting 100.000 tourists from Russia by the end of the year. At the same time, the total number of visitors will be about 1.4 million. "Approximately 20% of the Russian flow are organized tourists, the rest - independent. Now we see an increasing number of independent travelers, as well as requests from tour operators", - said the representative of the museum. In Schönbrunn, which is visited annually by 3.5 million tourists, they also note the return of Russians. Visitors from Russia here are on the fifth place among the other foreign ones.
