Russians began to travel more in Italy
According to the National Tourism Agency of Italy (ENIT), 644 thousand Russians visited Italy from January to August this year, which is 8.2% more than last year. This was announced by Giovanni Bastianelli, Executive director of the Rome’s office of ENIT at an Italian workshop in Moscow. Moreover, according to him, Russian tourists began to leave more money in Italian shops and restaurants - only in the first half of the year they spent 457 million Euros, which exceeded the figures for the same period of the last year by 15,1%. Also the spending of Russians, who visited the country with business purposes, increased by 33.8%. The national tourism agency also announced the statistics of the preferences of Russians. The leader is beach rest (40%), then excursions around art cities (30%) and on the third line is winter skiing (14%). As Bastianelli added, that the new flights program will increase the tourist flow to Italy, which will start in the near future on the following directions: from Moscow to Rome, Milan, Cagliari, Olbia; from St. Petersburg to Turin and Verona. And the frequencies of existing flights will also increase.
