Russia and Slovenia signed a joint action program in the field of tourism
“The Head of the Federal Tourism Agency (ATOR) Oleg Safonov and the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor have signed an agreement on cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism”, - according to the website of ATOR. The document was signed in the framework of negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Borut Pahor 10 February 2017 in the Kremlin. According to the program, in 2017-2018 the parties will work to increase tourist traffic between Russia and Slovenia, to jointly promote the national tourist products, to exchange information in the field of tourism, and enhancing the professional qualifications of the staff. It is also planned to promote mutual participation of Russian and Slovenian organizations in international tourism exhibitions and other specialized events, organized with the support of the national tourism administrations of the two states. According to Rosstat, the number of Slovenian citizens, visiting Russia with the purpose of tourism, was 7289 persons for 9 months of 2016, which is 2% less than in the same period of the previous year. The number of Russian tourists visiting Slovenia for the first 9 months of 2016 amounted 12 230 (-7%).
