Russia and Kazakhstan agreed to cooperate in the field of tourism
“New possibilities of development of tourism between Russia and Kazakhstan were discussed in Astana at the forum of interregional cooperation of the two countries with the participation of heads of state”, - said the press service of the Federal Tourism Agency on Wednesday. According to “Rosturizm”, following the results of the meeting a number of documents on mutual understanding and cooperation between the regions of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan was signed, as well as between the organizations of the tourism sector between the two countries. Thus, the agreements between the governments of Astrakhan and Mangistau, Orenburg and West Kazakhstan regions were concluded. According to “Rosstat”, in the first six months of 2016, Kazakhstan became the third most popular destination for Russian tourists after Abkhazia and Finland. Outcoming tourist flow for this period amounted 1.255 million trips. At the same time Russia was visited by 1.607 million Kazakh citizens.
