Railway connection between Tallinn and St. Petersburg is terminated
On Monday, 11.05.2015, the passenger train on the line Tallinn - St. Petersburg made its last trip because of the company decision temporarily to stop the line.
"We were forced to stop temporarily the traffic on that route, as the economic and political situation does not allow to continue working. Thanks to all our passengers and we hope that we will have the opportunity to serve you again in the future", GoRail company informed.
As earlier the company reported, from May 18 they also terminated the line Tallinn - Moscow.
At the same time, according to recent media reports in Estonia, Russia and Estonia agree on maintaining the railway communication with St. Petersburg and Moscow.
Thus, according to the newspaper Postimees, a proposal to put to the second half of May train Tallinn - Moscow via St. Petersburg was received in Tallinn. A decision is expected this week. Immediately after the decision it will be announced on the resumption of sales of train tickets Tallinn - Moscow.
