Oman simplified visa regime for Russians

“Oman simplified the visa regime for citizens of Russia, China and India”, - reports the Arab News portal. However, the new rule applies only to holders of citizenship, residence permits or holders of valid visas of Schengen countries, United Kingdom, the United States, Australia or Canada. Visas will be issued at the airport just upon arrival. It will cost 20 Omani Rials ($ 52), valid for 1 month and will allow to visit the country not only to the owner of the visa, but also to his family. To obtain a visa you will also need a return ticket and hotel reservation. Later, the authorities of Oman plan to analyze the innovation and adjust the program, expanding the geography of countries and improve the conditions for visa obtaining. By these measures, the authorities of the Sultanate intend to develop the tourism sector in the country. Until now, all Russian citizens had to obtain a visa in advance to enter Oman. Last year, this state of the Persian Gulf was visited by 3 million foreign visitors, which is 300 thousand more than in 2015.
