Number of guests from Russia in Georgia increased by one third
“In January-April 2018 357,000 Russian citizens visited Georgia, which is 31.2% more than the same period of 2017”, - reports the National Tourism Administration of Georgia. As the Head of the department Georgy Chogovadze said, in April the number of Russians who visited Georgia increased by 43.4% in comparison with April of the last year - up to 124 thousand people, which is a record indicator for the second month of spring during the last 12 years. By the number of citizens who visited Georgia for four months of this year Russia is on the fourth line after Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey. A significant influx of visitors was noted from Iran, Kuwait, China, Israel, as well as from European countries - Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Great Britain, the Netherlands and France. According to the information of the ministry, in January-April 2018, Georgia was visited by 2 million 60.3 thousand foreigners, which is 15.9% more than in the same period of the last year. In 2017 Georgia was visited by 7 million 554.9 thousand visitors, which is 18.8% more than a year ago, including 1 million 392.6 thousand Russian citizens (+34.1% for the year).
