The number of Russian tourists visiting Cyprus in April decreased by 22.5% compared with the same month of the last year, till 25.15 thousand people, the Statistical Service of Cyprus announced last Friday.
However, due to the growing popularity of Cyprus among tourists from Great Britain and Germany, overall tourism activity grew by 11.3% to 201.5 thousand people.
The number of tourists from Great Britain who came to Cyprus in April increased by 13% on, up to 83.36 thousand, from Germany - by 9.2% till 11.4 thousand.
The biggest growth was recorded for tourists from Israel (+ 90.8%) and Greece (+71.8%).
