Intourist has expanded the geography of the regions of departure to Japan
You can go on excursion tours to Japan with Intourist from eight cities in Russia. In the season-2019, the tour operator Intourist offers sightseeing tours to Japan from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Samara, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and Kazan. Philip Obruchev-Mironov, the head of Intourist sub-mass destinations group, said that the decision to expand the geography of sales of Japanese tourism products was made following the results of the IV Regional Tourism Forum Intourist in February 2019.
According to Intourist and its agencies, interest in package tours to Japan in the regions has increased significantly, due to the launch of direct flights S7 from Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Vladivostok to Japan.
“In the case of Vladivostok, this is not only a flight to traditional Tokyo, but also Osaka, where Intourist also offers to fly with full package tour,” explains Mr. Obruchev-Mironov.
Trips to Japan are traditionally in demand during two peak periods: sakura blossoms and the season of “red maples”.
Regional programs are mainly focused on arrival and departure from Tokyo. From Moscow the tour operator offers direct transportation on the wings of Japan Airlines and Aeroflot. It is also possible to fly to Japan with connection in Novosibirsk and Irkutsk on the wings of S7. St. Petersburg residents have another alternative using Finnair flights from Helsinki.
At the same time, from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Vladivostok there is a possibility of a flight both to Tokyo (Narita airport) and to the airports of Osaka. From two Russian capitals you can go to Osaka via Helsinki on the flifhts of the already mentioned Finnair.
