In the first quarter Russian tourists in Turkey was 68% more than a year ago
Even in the low season Russia was in the TOP 5 of Turkey's key incoming markets, significantly surpassing the record of 2017. According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, in January-March 2018 the country was visited by 5.12 million foreign tourists, which is 35% over the same period in 2017. In the TOP 5 of incoming markets of Turkey are Iran (738 thousand tourists, + 50% to the corresponding period of 2017), Georgia (475 thousand, + 3.6%), Germany (almost 417 thousand, + 36%), Bulgaria (377 thousand, + 16%) and Russia. For the reporting period from Russia to Turkey came more than 231 thousand people (growth is 68%), which is the most outstanding indicator of the Russian market for the past three years. In the total flow of Turkey the share of Russia is 4.52%. Turkey also pays attention to the high dynamics of European arrivals. In addition to Germany the significant growth was shown by the United Kingdom (+ 42%), the Netherlands (+ 16%), Austria (+ 30%), Belgium (+ 24%) and France (+ 32%). The Ministry of Tourism of Turkey improved its forecast for the foreign tourist flow in 2018. The country is waiting for about 40 million foreign visitors, which will provide 32 billion dollars of revenue. Expectations for the Russian market are 6 million people (in 2017, 4.7 million Russians visited Turkey).
