In February, the number of tourists in Cyprus increased by 30%
In February 2016, the number of international tourists in Cyprus increased by 30.1% mostly because of the Russian and the British travelers, according to Cyprus Statistical Service. The number of tourists in February 2016 amounted to 65.988 thousand people compared to 50.709 thousand people in February 2015. The number of tourists from Russia has more than doubled and reached 7.358 thousand people versus 3,659 thousand a year earlier. The number of tourists from the UK increased by 28% to 22.175 thousand people, while the number of French travelers fell by 30% - up to 1,317 thousand tourists. In January-February 2016, Cyprus was visited by 114.596 thousand international tourists, which is 23.9% more than in the same period of the last year.
