In 2017 OTI Group, TUI and Anex Tour operators served most of all Russian tourists in Turkey

“OTI Group (the holding which includes the Russian tour operator Coral Travel), TUI group and Anex Tour have served the most volume of Russian tourists in Turkey in 2017”, - reported the local Turizmdatabank portal. In comparison with 2016, TUI has ceded leadership to OTI Group, while Anex Tour rose from the sixth line of the rating to the third. On the fourth line of the rating is Kilit Global holding, which serves clients of Russian tour operators Biblio-Globus and Tez Tour. Pegas Touristik moved from the 13-th line to the fifth, while Thomas Cook, which serves customers of STC Intourist, rose from the 12-th place to the eighth in 2017. According to Turizmdatabank, a significant impact on the current rating was provided by the opening of Turkey for Russian tourists in 2017. Turkey last year regained the title of the most popular foreign destinations for Russians after a significant decline in 2016, when the sale of tours to this country was banned. According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, in 2017 the country was visited by 4.7 million Russians, which is 444% or 5.5 times more than a year ago. According to the forecast of Turkish authorities, about 5 million tourists from Russia are expected to visit the country in 2018. Totally, this year Turkey intends to host 36 million foreign guests - this is 3.6 million more than in 2017.
