Greece to launch advertising campaign to increase the number of "last minutes" bookings
The Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Tourism and Maritime Affairs of Greece announced the launch of a new national PR campaign, which should attract tourists and increase the number of "last minutes" bookings, according to Greek Travel Pages web site.
The campaign, called "Happening Now: #GreekSummer" will focus on the European audience via Internet and media channels. Graphics, photos, videos and interesting posts about Greece will urge tourists to come to Hellas and to share their experiences with friends.
The campaign will be carried out by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), in collaboration with the Confederation of Greek tourism (SETE). It is also expected that the initiative will be supported by Greek regions and tourism business.
According to the Bank of Greece, the tourist flow from Russia in Greece has fallen for five months in 2015 by 62% compared with the same period of the last year, to 56 thousand tourists. In June and early July, Russian tour operators said that Russians are not confused by the economic problems of Greece . However, by the middle of the month negative information about situation in Grece has affected the demand. Tour operators have started to reduce the amount of flights due to falling sales.
