Greece remains in the TOP-10 of the most popular destinations for Russians

Greece remains a popular holiday destination for Russians, it is on the sixth place among the most popular countries for individual travelers, according to information of online services Aviasales and Hotellook.

"Greece constantly is in the middle of the TOP-10 rating of popular holiday destinations. Moreover, the country has a chance to attract even more Russian tourists, lowering prices for hotels, since flight tickets became cheaper," the press department of online services reported.

Earlier, according to the company, it was recorded decline in demand for the island part of Greece due to a significant rise in price of air tickets. Now, however, prices fell down (so, the ticket from Moscow to Heraklion costs about 12 thousand rubles (about 190 euro), and the interest to the Greek islands returns.

Experts of online services also reported that Russians prefer to book budget accommodation, basically, three stars hotels.

"Since last year, the average check dropped by 25-30 euros. So, special offers from the hotels would be very useful. According to Hotellook, out of almost 900 hotels on Rhodes, 130 hotels offer special offers for the coming weeks," the press-department of the company mentioned. Earlier, therepresentatives of the leading Russian tour operators have stated that the Greek hoteliers do not plan additional discounts for the Russians because of the fact that demand is high enough.
