Grand Prix of "Formula 1" will take place in Bahrain in 2018
In 2018, Bahrain once again will be the venue for one of the first stages of the "Formula 1" season. The royal race will be held on the famous Sahir highway on April 8 and will gather up to 50 thousand spectators.
Grand Prix of Bahrain 2018 will last three days: April 6 and 7 will be allocated for free races and qualifications, and the long-awaited night racing with the participation of star pilots will be held on April 8. The main competition will unfold among the winner of the last season Sebastian Vettel and the prize-winners Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. The distance to be overcome by sportsmen on the Sahir road will traditionally be 57 laps with a total length of 308,238 km. Despite the fact that the final race starts after sunset it is recommended to arrive to Sahir in advance. During the day on the territory of the circuit visitors can relax in a spacious teahouse, and get an autograph of the pilots GP2 and other talented and promising racers.
The opening of the Bahrain International Circuit took place in 2004 with Sahir being the first track for Formula 1 in the Middle East. Today the sports complex has all the necessary infrastructure for athletes, fans and the press. There is a parking lot (more than 10 thousand parking spaces), a restaurant, a media center (up to 500 journalists) and a modern medical center. In 2017, the Bahrain Grand Prix was visited by a record number of people: 33 thousand spectators were present on the day of the final race, 93 thousand - during the whole race weekend. According to the organizers of the event, in the new season these figures will grow significantly.
