Finland has left in force restrictions on the issuance of visas to Russian citizens
Despite the upcoming resumption of railway communication between Russia and Finland, restrictions on the issuance of tourist visas to Russians remain in force. There is no information about the change yet, the Embassy of Finland in the Russian Federation told.
«The resumption of railway communication or the lifting of restrictions on air communication with Finland does not change the validity period of the established entry restrictions. There is no information about changing the current entry restrictions yet», the diplomatic mission told the agency.
Currently, Finnish visa centers accept visa applications from certain categories of citizens. Among them are persons who have an expired multiple-entry Schengen visa issued by Finland for a period of at least two years, family members of Finnish citizens, drivers of international cargo, holders of diplomatic and service passports, seasonal workers.
Earlier it was reported that Russia is resuming railway communication with Finland from December 12. Air communication with this country was restored in the winter of this year.
